The P-38 Lightening was manufactured for the United States Army Air Corps. She was equipped with twin booms, and a single, central nacelle containing the cockpit and armament. She was used or a variety of different roles, some of them were dive bombing, level bombing, ground strafing, photo reconnaissance mission and many others.

However, the P-38 did have a few problems. The main problems were with the dive flaps. They were intended to help the plane keep lift within bounds of the lift. In March of 1944 200 dive flap kits were destroyed by accident but the last 210 P-38J’s to come off the assembly line were equipped with these new and improved wing flaps.

The P-38 Lighting was37 feet 10 inches long and stood 9 feet 10 inches tall and had a wingspan of 52 feet. Her empty weight was 12,780 pounds and her loaded weight was 17,500 pounds. Her max speed was 443 miles per hour and her range was 1,300 miles.

References:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P-38_Lightning

Other P-38 Wood Model Airplanes for sale:

P-38J Lightning USAAF with Sharks Teeth Model Airplane - http://www.modelaircraftstore.com/product/AM219-ER

P-38J Lightning USAAF with Sharks Teeth Model Airplane - http://www.modelaircraftstore.com/product/AM219-EL

P-38 Lightning USAAF 'Putt Putt Putt Maru' Model Airplane - http://www.modelaircraftstore.com/product/AM219-CR

P-38 Lightning USAAF 'Putt Putt Putt Maru' Loaded Wood Model Airplane - http://www.modelaircraftstore.com/product/AM219-CL

P-38J Lightning, “Mama’s Boy”, Silver w/ I-Stripes Model Airplane - http://www.modelaircraftstore.com/product/AM219-BR

P-38J Lightning, “Mama’s Boy”, Silver w/ I-Stripes, Loaded Model Airplane - http://www.modelaircraftstore.com/product/AM219-BL

P-38J Lightning, “Geronimo II”, Silver Model Airplane - http://www.modelaircraftstore.com/product/AM219-AR

<b.p-38j geronimo="" loaded="" model="" airplane="">P-38J Lightning, “Geronimo II”, Silver, Loaded Model Airplane - http://www.modelaircraftstore.com/product/AM219-AL</b.p-38j>

F/A-18C Hornet Airplane Model

F/A-18C Hornet Airplane:

Purchase Now: FA-18C Hornet Wooden Model Airplane

McDonnell Douglas which is now Boeing manufactured the F/A 18 Hornet. On November 5, of that same year the Supersonic Transport Aircraft Committee (STAC) was formed. They assembled to study the feasibility of building a supersonic airliner. They went to work and in 1959 they came up with 2 design studies for supersonic airliners. However, there was a huge problem with this aircraft; it was going to be extremely costly so France and Britain decided to go in it together. They signed a treaty stated that both France and Britain had equal shares in this airliner and that they would equally split the costs as well as the production and profits from future sales.

In September of 1965, they began work on the production airframe. A final prototype was finished in 1966. The next year the prototype was presented in Toulouse, France. But in 1968 nor the British or the French were the first to fly a supersonic aircraft, the USSR bet them to it. Finally, on March 2, 1969 after many changes and redesigns The French Concorde 001 made her maiden flight and on April 9, 1969 the 002 in England made hers.

The Concorde can reach speeds of Mach 2. She is 203 feet long and has the ability to hold 100 passengers. Her cruising altitude is 50,000-60,000 feet. Her take off speed is 223 miles per hour and her landing speed is 186 miles per hour. She has a range of 4,058 miles.

References:
http://www.essortment.com/all/concordehistory_rwaa.htm
